Ahahahaha my new favourite blog. Christian pick-up lines are always funny.
We were studying putting on the “whole armor of God” (Ephesians 6:11-17) and I thought my notes turned out cute. When the Adversary comes at you with fiery darts, fend him off with faith and cupcakes.
Like an eagle that rouses her chicks and hovers over her young, so He spread His wings to take them up and carried them safely on His pinions. (Deuteronomy 32:11)
Remember when I said I wanted a Bible typography blog to exist? It does!
More art journal pages from August.
My first few days owning a smart phone are all a blur.
Hey, remember that art journal project I had going? I finished all these pages way back in August and then forgot to post them.
When I first came home from Japan and had to face reality again, it was tough. It seemed like I had nothing to do all day but was always busy, and I didn’t have my own bedroom yet so my life was in kind of suspended existence for about two weeks. Things calmed down, of course, but looking back on these old pages I can remember how lost I felt trying to figure out what kind of person I was going to be. And now, looking back, all I can see are the tangent lines I drew :P
Post-it doodle. I’ve seen this done before, but it is so, so accurate.
Does a version of the Bible exist as awesome typography? Because sometimes when I should be studying I’m like “Eh…”
But if somebody posted a visual Bible on tumblr I’m sure I would stay up for hours reading it.
As an editor at a company that publishes freelance bloggers, I get to deal with a lot rushed, low-quality copy writing. Sometimes I have to edit for grammar errors, but other times I just cut out things that bug me stylistically.
If I had my way, I would ban the use of the following words in all blog posts:
Any word that requires use of a dictionary
I also have to follow AP style at the office which forbids the use of the serial comma or Oxford comma (the one that would read “red, white and blue” instead of “red, white, and blue”). Whoever made the decision that AP style would be better off without the Oxford comma needs to meet me in a dark alley.
A take on Roald Dahl’s “Matilda” I did earlier this year!
Oh my gosh these are fantastic. What an adorable Matilda.
1. Amazing art
2. Matilda has the same haircut as me
3. I too love books
4. So when do I get telekinetic powers??
Another HENKA page. While in Japan, I promised I’d come home and delete all my pirated music. Predictably, I have a sorry, miniscule library left.
